Quimper Mercantile Company is establishing a general store on the Quimper Peninsula.
Success depends upon broad community support and ownership, as well as on meeting the product needs of the community.
With that in mind, we will be offering residents the opportunity to buy shares in this community-owned company. Before the store is launched, the shareholders would elect a board for this Washington State corporation. The board will oversee the store's operation. No individual or small group could control the store, as a limit would be placed on the number of shares any individual could own.
Simultaneously with organizational planning, we are considering what product mix would be appropriate. We've had an overwhelming response to our survey.
